I am a mixed media artist who creates one-of-a-kind art handbags, jewelry, tin art, sculpture, and other items. My work is strongly influenced by my theatrical background and extensive travels abroad where I find many items to use in my works of art. Recently, I have created artwork for:
• House of Blues venues across the country
• New York Fashion Week 2009 for the Quiet Riot runway show
• Actress Dakota Fanning, famed writer Ray Bradbury, celebrities Sharon
and Kelly Osbourne, and The World-Famous Pontani Sisters, as well as local
art enthusiasts Mindy Eiteljorg and Margo Lacy Eccles
• The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where I presented art to former
members of the rock band The Clash
• The rock band Southern Culture on the Skids who sells my art jewelry
at their concerts nationwide
• Red Bull Art Of Can Exhibit in Chicago
• The Georgia O’Keeffe Exhibit at both The Boise Museum of Art
and The Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis
• The Eiteljorg Museum Grand Reopening
• The Eiteljorg Museum’s Buckaroo Bash (2008 marks my 4th bash)
• DVA Gallery’s Anniversary Tiki Exhibition in Chicago (my 4th DVA show)
• The Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis
• Walter Payton’s Spare Time for A Cure in Chicago
• The Indianapolis I.W.I.N. Foundation
• The Junior League of Indianapolis’ American Girl Fashion Show
• Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing
• Solo Exhibits at Barnes & Noble in Carmel and Café Patachou in Indianapolis
• SullivanMunce Cultural Center in Zionsville
I earned a BA from Indiana University (in art and theatre studies), and an MA in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago. I have several gallery shows throughout the year and I donate much of my work. My work is also available for purchase at Chiaroscuro in Chicago’s Water Tower Place and www.theartofdonna.etsy.com.
